    Dark Chocolate Bark with Toasted Quinoa, Oats, & Seeds

    This quick and easy dark chocolate bark with toasted quinoa, oats, and seeds recipe is full of healthy, all-natural ingredients and is the perfect healthy treat!

    It’s full of healthy, real food ingredients like… toasted oats, seeds, quinoa, and super dark chocolate. And, it’s SO incredibly simple to make and ready in just minutes.

    INGREDIENTS

    Dark Chocolate 80% or greater.

    Rolled Oats - Use Gluten-Free for a gluten-free treat

    Pepitas -pumpkin seeds

    Sunflower Seeds

    Coconut oil

    Chocolate Oats and Seeds

    How To Make Dark Chocolate Bark

    Toast the oats and seeds for a few minutes on low heat and set aside.

    Melt the dark chocolate with a small amount of coconut oil in the microwave for a few 30-second sessions. Stir to make sure it's all melted, then spread out the dark chocolate onto a lined baking sheet

    Top with toasted oats and seeds. Sprinkle with a bit of flakey sea salt then chill to allow the chocolate bark to set.

    Refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes to 1 hour.

    Break bark into pieces.

    OPTIONAL CHOCOLATE BARK ADD-INS

    This chocolate bark can easily be fancied up with some cacao nibs and pistachios to top off the chocolate, or you could add another drizzle of chocolate or whatever sounds good to you.

    IS DARK CHOCOLATE BARK VEGAN?

    Most dark chocolates are vegan, but not always. Dark chocolate typically contains cocoa mass , cocoa butter, some amount of sugar (as a general rule, darker chocolates contain less sugar), and soy lecithin (an emulsifier)All of these ingredients are Vegan Dark chocolate becomes un-vegan when any type of milk is introduced. Common types of milk included in dark chocolate bars are from milk fat, skimmed milk powder, or just plain milk itself.

    So, when it comes to dark chocolate, read your labels if you live a dairy-free or plant-based lifestyle.

    HOW TO STORE HOMEMADE DARK CHOCOLATES

    Store dark chocolate bark in an air-tight container in a cool dry place for up to 2 weeks.

    DARK CHOCOLATE BARK WITH TOASTED OATS AND SEEDS

    Ingredients
      

    • 2 3.5 oz dark chocolate bars
    • 2 tablespoon rolled oats gluten-free, if needed
    • 2 tablespoon sunflower seeds
    • 2 tbsp pepitas
    • 1 tablespoon flax seeds
    • 1 tbsp quinoa
    • ¼ teaspoon coconut oil
    • 1 teaspoon flakey sea salt

    Instructions
     

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Lightly toast seeds and oats over medium low heat until slightly toasted and aromatic. Set aside.
    • Add dark chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave proof bowl. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave safe bowl for thirty seconds, stir and heat for another 30 seconds. Stir until all the chocolate is completely melted.
    • Pour the melted chocolate out onto the prepared baking sheet and spread chocolate down the center of the parchment paper in an even layer.
    • Sprinkle with flakey sea salt.
    • Refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Peel off parchment, and break bark into pieces.

    Notes

    This dark chocolate bark with toasted oats and seeds can easily be fancied up with some cacao nibs and pistachios to the top of the chocolate, or you could add another drizzle of chocolate or whatever sounds good to you. This recipe is easily changed depending on your taste, or whatever you might have on hand.
