Fluffy Protein French Toast Recipe

This Fluffy Protein-Packed French Toast is the perfect breakfast choice if you want something that’s both delicious and nutritious. Made with simple ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen, this recipe is easy to follow and makes the fluffiest and most mouth-watering French toast ever!

Ingredients
  

  • 6 slices Bread any kind - white, wheat, seeded, gluten-free or keto
  • 2 egg
  • 4 egg whites or ½ cup liquid egg whites
  • ½ cup whey protein powder Vanilla, cinnamon or caramel flavors work best. You can also use plant-based protein or casein protein.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat a non-stick griddle or pan over medium-high heat
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg whites, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  • Add the protein powder to the mixing bowl and whisk until smooth and no lumps remain.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg and protein powder mixture, making sure to coat both sides.
  • Place the bread on the griddle or pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  • Once cooked, remove the French toast from the griddle or pan and repeat the process with the remaining slices of bread.

Notes

There are several substitutions you can make to this protein French toast recipe depending on your dietary preferences and restrictions. 
  • Bread: You can use any type of bread you like for this recipe. Whole wheat, sourdough, or gluten-free bread are all great options.
  • Milk: You can use any type of milk you like for this recipe, such as almond milk, soy milk, or coconut milk.
  • Protein powder: You can use any flavor of protein powder you like for this recipe. Chocolate or strawberry protein powder would also work well.
  • Vanilla extract: If you don't have vanilla extract, you can omit it altogether.
  • Cinnamon: You can use other spices such as nutmeg or pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon.
  • Salt: You can omit the salt if you prefer.
