Honey Almond Dark Chocolate with Cacao Nibs

This recipe screams valentine candy! Heart-shaped dark chocolate filled with a gooey AND crunchy, oh so yummy center.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 3.5 oz dark chocolate bars chopped
  • 2 ½ tablespoon sliced Almonds
  • 2 ½ tablespoon Cacao Nibs
  • 2 tablespoon Honey
  • teaspoon coconut oil

Instructions
 

  • Break or chop the chocolate and place in a microwave safe bowl with the coconut oil.
  • Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave for thirty seconds, stir and heat for another 30 seconds. Repeat until the chocolate has melted and is smooth.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the honey, cacao nibs, and sliced almonds.
  • Spoon the melted dark chocolate into each heart, then tilt the mold so that the sides become coated with chocolate as well.
  • Next, spoon in equal amounts of filling into earch heart.
  • Spoon remaining melted dark chocolate into molds. Use a long flat offset spatula or the back of a knife to gently scrape off extra chocolate from the top of the slicione mold.
  • Refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Pop chocolates out of the molds and enjoy@

Notes

I recommend using 80% Dark Chocolate or greater. The filling is very sweet and the bitter chocolate pairs very well with it. 
 
Any shaped chocolate mold will do.
 

Vegan Option

Substitute molasses for the honey and use vegan dark chocolate.
